SHOPPING CENTRE / SIEMIANOWICE ŚLĄSKIE

A shopping and service centre on the site of the former “Jedność” steelworks. The facility is placed at the junction of the largest cities in the region: Katowice, Sosnowiec, Chorzów and Siemianowice Śląskie.

During the design work, we wanted the inspirations drawn from industrial architecture to become clear. Numerous borrowings from the buildings of the “Jedność” steelworks constitute the core of new buildings, maintaining the historical continuity of the place tradition.

Red brick and steel as well as references to mansard shed roofs with characteristic skylights, large inter-storey glazing with muntin are the elements that identify the building with local architectural traditions.
